Initial Meeting

We’ll start the process with a meeting. Here, we’ll get to know each other, dive into the facts of your case, and outline the specific the steps to come. To promote safety during COVID-19, I am offering meetings over Zoom instead of face-to-face.

REQUEST a DISCOVERY

Once we’ve discussed your case, I’ll request discovery – or, in other words, the state’s case against you. This will give me a chance to look for holes in the prosecution’s case and begin crafting your defense.

FILE A MOTION

Going through the discovery will help me determine whether any steps taken by the arresting officers or police representatives were committed illegally or wrongfully. If so, we’ll have the opportunity to suppress certain evidence, charges, or witnesses that might be used against you.

Pre-Trial Hearings

Both DMV and motion hearings will allow us to continue familiarizing ourselves with – and identifying flaws in – the state’s case. It’s very possible that we can uncover previously unknown issues or favorable evidence during these hearings. In these situations, we improve our likelihood of negotiating a better plea deal, or even getting a dismissal. Even if we’re unable to uncover favorable evidence or flaws in the state’s case, we’ll have a better understanding of how to craft your best possible defense in the criminal trial.

Criminal Trial

If we’ve been unable to negotiate an acceptable plea deal or get your case fully dismissed by this point, we’ll have the option to go to trial. I’ll take into account everything we’ve already learned to present the strongest argument in your defense. I’ll also portray you in a way that helps the judge or jury see you as a complete person, rather than just a defendant being charged with a crime. Doing so will increase the chances you earn the most favorable possible outcome.
