THE HRC LAW ADVANTAGE

From my wide breadth of experience to my genuine care for the people I represent, discover what sets me apart from other Aspen DUI lawyers and Florida DUI lawyers.

ABOUT

HEATHER CRAMER

Heather Cramer - Legal - Law - DUI

I spent the first 19 years of my legal career as Senior Assistant General Counsel with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Training hearing officers with little legal experience taught me how to break down intricate legal issues into layman terms – a skill I use when talking with clients today. Working as an appellate lawyer, I presented complex legal arguments to the Florida Supreme Court, district court of appeals, and circuit courts throughout Florida.  Doing so taught me how to think, write, speak, and craft strong legal arguments.

Over nearly two decades with the DMV, I presented countless oral arguments and received hundreds of published legal opinions – many of which helped shape Florida’s DUI law. Along the way, I became a speaker and educator on DUI-related issues for members of the bar, law enforcement officers, and district attorneys. Today, I am considered a foremost authority on DUI law, driver’s license issues, and administrative DUI suspensions.

In 2011, I opened my own practice in Florida. The following year, I moved to Aspen, where I have since taken the Colorado bar exam and opened a private practice. Now, in addition to maintaining a successful Florida DUI license suspension and appellate practice, I represent clients in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley on DUI, DWAI, MIP, and sealing and expunging matters.

My DMV experience gives me administrative knowledge many other DUI lawyers do not have. My experience as a mother of three helps me relate on a personal level to both parents and teens during MIP cases. My interpersonal skills have helped me create strong relationships with judges, attorneys, and legal professionals in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond.

EXPERIENCE

I’ve spent nearly three decades working on multiple sides of the DUI legal process, from state  to defense, from criminal to administrative. My wealth of experience gives me an extensive understanding of the unique nature of DUI, license suspensions, Minor in Possession (MIP), and sealing and expunging matters – along with a big-picture perspective that many lesser-experienced lawyers simply cannot offer.

ACCESSIBILITY

I pride myself on my accessibility and availability to each client. Working with me means just that. No assistants, no paralegals – just a highly experienced and committed professional by your side every step of the way.

FOCUS

Compared to larger firms, my Aspen DUI practice and Florida DUI practice are extremely focused. I take on a limited number of cases so I can give each client the attention they deserve. Rather than spread my time over a wide range of practice areas, I work only in areas in which I have a proven track record of success: DUIs, MIPs, license suspensions, and sealing and expunging.

CARE

No two cases or clients are the same. I take the time to truly understand what makes each one unique. Thanks to my personal investment in each case I take on, my commitment to my clients is second to none.

COMMUNICATION

The legal world is complex. I help my clients make it simpler. I explain complicated issues in easy-to-understand terms. I walk my clients through every step of the process, from the technical aspects of charges to how it can feel sitting in court. And when questions come up, I’m just a text or email away.

RELATIONSHIPS

I am a people person. From the clients I fight for, to the judges, attorneys, and legal professionals I work with, I am proud of my ability to connect with others. Because I approach opposing attorneys as colleagues rather than adversaries, I’ve earned their trust and respect – and thus can better negotiate with them to achieve positive outcomes for my clients.
